1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Techwem website at techwem.com and all related content, courses, tools, and services (collectively, the “Platform”). By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
The Platform is operated by Techwem (“we,” “us,” or “our”).
2. Who We Are and What We Provide
Techwem is an independent educational platform for industrial automation and control engineering professionals. We provide articles, videos, interactive learning activities, daily challenges, glossaries, calculators, and—where offered—paid training courses.
Techwem is an independent training and education provider. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Honeywell International Inc., Emerson Electric Co., ABB Ltd., Yokogawa Electric Corporation, or any other control system, software, or hardware manufacturer.
3. Intellectual Property — Third-Party Software and Trademarks
This section is important. Please read it carefully.
Techwem does not sell, license, sublicense, distribute, lease, or otherwise provide any third-party software, virtual machines, control system platforms, firmware, or proprietary engineering tools. We charge only for our own educational content and training services.
All product names, trademarks, service marks, logos, software, and brand names referenced on the Platform—including but not limited to Experion, DeltaV, 800xA, Centum, and the names of their respective manufacturers—are the property of their respective owners. These names are used on the Platform solely for descriptive, educational, and instructional purposes (nominative reference), to teach concepts and help engineers understand these systems.
Reference to any third-party product, trademark, or company does not imply endorsement, affiliation, or partnership. Where any third-party software or system is shown or discussed, it is presented for educational illustration only and remains the exclusive property of its owner.
If you are a rights holder and believe any content on the Platform infringes your intellectual property, please contact us at info@techwem.com and we will respond promptly.
4. Our Intellectual Property

You may not copy, reproduce, redistribute, resell, republish, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission. Purchasing a course grants you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to access that content for your own learning; it does not transfer ownership.

Where the Platform allows you to submit content (such as comments, forum posts, or challenge submissions), you retain ownership of your content but grant Techwem a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, distribute, and use it in connection with operating and promoting the Platform. You are responsible for ensuring your submissions do not infringe the rights of others or violate these Terms.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform and all content are provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you paid to us, if any, in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Techwem and its operators from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of a third party.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we reasonably believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Platform ceases immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may revise these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be indicated by the “Last updated” date. Material changes will take effect when posted. Your continued use of the Platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Governing Law and Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Norway, except where mandatory consumer protection law grants you the right to bring proceedings in your country of residence.
